ASBS STRUCTURAL DIVERSITY

01.
RIGID FRAME

Structural members are assembled and connected in many ways to frame space. A steel frame can be constructed as a simple, rigid, or semi rigid frame. Simple or conventional frames that are unrestrained, free-ended or flexible assume that the ends of the steel beams are connected for shear only and free to rotate under load. Rigid frame are those which are restrained or continuous assume that the end connections of all members in the frame have sufficient rigidity to hold vertically unchanged original angles between intersecting members.

HOLLOW STEEL SECTION FRAMING SYSTEM

If two members (HSS) resting against each other they form an arch, by introducing a tie this liner arch now becomes a simple truss. These joints of the truss must be flexible and allow for rotation. The member’s of the truss is either in tension or compression; none of them are affected by bending or shear. The strut is the compression member while the tie is the tension member. This type of structure is very effective where large unobstructed spans are required, for which it would be impossible to obtain one piece girders of a sufficient depth and length.

SPACE FRAME SYSTEM

Skeleton 3D frameworks consisting of pin or welded connection with round or rectangular Hollow section (HSS) are generally designed as space frame. Architects while designing a steel structure are very conscious about of space, shape, forms and esthetic view. Space frame structures are only solution of their worries. A recent review of developments in the field of progress has been made in the field of pre fabricated double layer girds. Two basic elements of space frame structures, the top module in shape of square, Rhombus, Rectangular and Triangular base, along with similar shape bottom module, from a double layer space frame. All the members are made out of various Hollow Steel Section which are connected to one another by Hollow / solid spherical nodes or by welding method.
